Aluminum for deoxidation, grade AV87, produced by BELTSVETMET OJSC, is used for steel deoxidation, in aluminothermic processes, and in the production of ferroalloys and master alloys with rare earth and other rare metals. Deoxidation is the process of reducing the oxygen content in a metal or bonding it into strong compounds. Aluminum in various forms, typically wire or ingots of various shapes, is used as a base for deoxidation of many steels.
