The test system used in our sanatorium is intended for specific non-invasive diagnostics of Helicobacter pylori infection and can be used to monitor the effectiveness of anti-Helicobacter therapy. The principle of operation is based on determining the activity of the urease enzyme produced by Helicobacter pylori in the stomach before and after taking a portion of urea of normal isotopic composition. Urease breaks down urea to form ammonia and carbon dioxide. The color reaction that occurs in the indicator tube when air from the oral cavity is passed through it indicates the formation of ammonia, allows us to judge the urease activity of Helicobacter pylori and make a conclusion about the infection.
