Uzbekistan seeks closer ties with Belarus’ Brest Oblast in agriculture, processing industry

19.07.2026. Uzbekistan is aiming for close cooperation with Belarus’ Brest Oblast in agriculture and the processing industry, Brest Oblast Governor Piotr Parkhomchik told the media following his report to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 18 July, BelTA has learned. Piotr Parkhomchik said that during the report, special attention was paid to cooperation with Uzbekistan - a priority for both countries. “Yesterday I spoke with my counterpart from Bukhara. They are very interested in our expertise - in training agricultural personnel, as well as in milk and meat processing using our technologies and the equipment manufactured by our enterprises,” the governor said.

He emphasized that these issues had been discussed in detail with Uzbekistan. “A meeting of business representatives and parliamentarians from both countries will take place in Uzbekistan in September. We will prepare a concrete roadmap to be implemented over the next two to three years,” the Brest Oblast governor said. According to him, representatives of Uzbekistan’s Bukhara Region have expressed readiness to work in Brest Oblast in crop farming and livestock production. “For areas where we lack capacity or have shortfalls, we are open to providing land for them to cultivate. We will discuss these matters in September,” Piotr Parkhomchik stressed.
