Belarus and great Britain to develop cooperation in the field of wood processing

19.06.2018. Belarus and the United Kingdom will develop cooperation in the field of wood processing, the press service of the concern "Bellesbumprom"reported. The concern held a meeting of representatives of a number of British companies with the leadership of the woodworking industry of Belarus and representatives of woodworking and furniture enterprises of the concern "Bellesbumprom".


During the talks, representatives of British companies expressed interest in various wood products. In particular, soft and garden furniture, small architectural forms for estates, building structures, decking and other molded products are in demand in the UK market. There is interest in various materials and details for the production of furniture, the ability to supply ready-made prefabricated furniture sets.

Chairman of the concern Yuri Nazarov noted during the negotiations that the UK market is of great interest for Belarusian woodworking enterprises. "We see considerable potential here. Last year UK only lumber imported $2 billion these products deliver our neighbors from the Baltic countries, Germany and Poland. In some cases, the origin of goods sold to the UK is from Belarus. By and large, you buy Belarusian products from intermediaries, we offer to work directly with Belarusian manufacturers," he stressed.

"This is true," confirmed Lawrence Webster, Director of the British company Kullik & Rullmann AG, " we know that the products we buy, for example, in Lithuania or Latvia, from Belarusian materials, and we are completely satisfied with its quality. At the same time, we are interested in having direct contacts here and working directly with Belarusian suppliers. Therefore, we use this visit to get acquainted with Belarusian enterprises and establish cooperation with them."

Immediately after the talks, representatives of the companies went to Belarusian enterprises. They will get acquainted with the production of furniture in JSC "Molodechnomebel", doors and various designs of wood in JSC "stroydetali" (Vileyka). It is also planned to visit the production of JSC "Borisovsky DOCK", where they produce parts for houses made of glued timber, a wide range of wood products, as well as wood fuel - pellets. Businessmen will get acquainted with the Belarusian experience of forest management on the basis of Vileika and Borisov forestry.

As a result of visits to enterprises tomorrow, June 19, a contact and cooperation exchange will be held, during which companies interested in cooperation will be able to reach specific agreements and plan joint plans.

The visit of the British business community to Belarus was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Belarus in this country and the Federation of traders of the UK goods in the development of the agreements reached during the international exhibition Timber Expo-2017 in Birmingham, where the Belarusian woodworking stand was presented for the first time.
