“Electricity consumption in the country reached approximately 43 billion kWh. Consumption by the population for heating and hot water supply increased by 40%, and by electric vehicles — more than twofold. We understand that not all electrical energy goes through the electric charging infrastructure; some electric vehicles are charged at home. We estimate that the total electricity consumption by electric vehicles in our country today stands at about 200 million kWh. The volume of electricity consumption is also growing in the real sector of the economy. As an example, I can cite the agricultural sector, such as the use of electricity for growing vegetables in protected ground, that is, greenhouses with supplemental lighting. Over the past year, the amount of electricity used for these needs grew by 17% and exceeded 170 million kWh,” said Denis Moroz.
“These results show that the energy ministry has successfully coped with the tasks of the past year and the five-year period, ensuring timely and complete energy supply to the country,” the minister said.
