Lithuanian company built five biogas power plants in Belarus

28.11.2018. Lithuanian Energy company Modus built in Belarus for five biogas power plant in the Grodno and Brest regions, announced in a communications Agency PR Vision. The projects were funded by the EBRD and Bank Moscow-Minsk and started at the end of 2017, their cost is estimated at about $25 million Power plants with a total capacity of 5 MW will annually give the network about 40 million kWh of clean electricity for domestic consumption.

This situation is due to the size of the market and the actively developing livestock sector of the economy, and thanks to the efforts of the state, - said the Chairman of the Board of Modus Energy Ruslan Sklepovich. - In addition, the country has created a transparent system of auctions. Investments in the energy sector related to biogas, there is really attractive. In this regard, we plan to further develop our activities in Belarus."

For the production of clean energy biogas produced in the process of decomposition of biological materials will be used. These include waste products of animals and birds, in various green waste such as grass cuttings, weeds, substandard fruit and vegetables and other substances of organic origin. Such energy sources are considered renewable. The received energy will be supplied to the operator of power networks of Belarus.
