Data transfer from the controller to the Power Supply Company computer is possible via a cellular connection or an Ethernet connection, depending on the version of the built-in data transmission module. Other communication devices (cellular or landline modems, radio modems, various interface converters) can be connected to the external RS-232 interface. The controller can be used to meter and analyze the consumption of other energy resources, such as cold and hot water and heat. In some cases, it is necessary to use meters with a pulse output and pulse-to-RS485 converters. Configuration and programming of the KUB-1M USPD is performed using the CubEnter program, which is provided below.

The KUB-1M controller is designed for commercial multi-tariff metering of electricity consumption, cold and hot water consumption in multi-apartment residential buildings, as well as in automated centralized data collection systems for electricity and other energy consumption. It collects data by regularly polling meters via digital interfaces and stores the collected information. For communication with meters, the USPD is equipped with three RS485 interfaces, each of which allows connection of 128 meters or can be used for communication with meters using PLC technology via an external hub (or PLC modem).
