"We associate the prospects for further development of the Great Stone with the creation of production facilities based on new and high technologies, including those resulting from joint scientific and technical projects. We hope that through joint efforts this platform will receive dynamic development and bring significant results for the innovative development of the two countries, " Alexander Shumilin stressed.
China is a strategic partner for Belarus, including in the field of science and technology. This is confirmed by the intensive interaction at the state level. In particular, the Commission on Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee is working under the auspices of the SCNT and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. The program of the Belarusian-Chinese scientific and technical cooperation for 2021-2022 demonstrates good results, within the framework of which 35 joint scientific and technical projects are financed in priority areas for the parties; preparations are underway for the opening of the next competition to support projects in 2022-2023. New joint subjects of innovation infrastructure are being created – in 2020, the Belarusian-Chinese Technopark in Changchun received the first residents, and in the same year, the Chinese-Belarusian Innovation Center for Industrial Technologies was registered as a resident of the Great Stone Industrial Park with a project to create a business incubator in it. The project is planned to be implemented during 2020-2023, the investment amount will be at least 500 thousand US dollars. Also, the Chinese-Belarusian Innovation Center for Commercialization of Scientific and Technical Achievements was opened last year.
For reference: The Innovation Center is a comprehensive platform for the cultivation of startup projects in the Chinese-Belarusian industrial Park "Great Stone". Its activities are aimed at increasing the intensity of attracting scientific and technical projects to the industrial park. In functional terms, the innovation center will combine the development of 5 platforms: an incubation platform for the development of startup projects;a platform for the integration of venture and industrial funds; demonstration and trading platforms; platforms of the Chinese-Belarusian scientific and technical cooperation; production platforms for successfully developing R & D projects.
