The decision to develop a new tank container for chlorine was also influenced by the planned end of the service life of the fleet of tank cars intended for the transport of chlorine, as well as the entry into force of Order No. 382 of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation "On Amendments to the Rules of Technical Operation of the Railways of the Russian Federation, approved by Order No. 286 of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation dated December 21, 2010", according to which it is prohibited to use cars with an extended service life.
To date, two prototypes of the tank container have already been manufactured, which have passed the entire scope of tests under the supervision of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and received the necessary certificates. Work is also underway to obtain a certificate of compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union TR CU 032/2013 "On the safety of vessels operating under excessive pressure". The process of obtaining a certificate in the Ruschlor association continues.
At the stage of development of design documentation, JSC "OZTM" worked closely with LLC NPP "Chemical Safety" on the design of the tank container. As a result of the cooperation, a number of changes were made that increased the operational safety of the container.
The container is a thick-walled vessel enclosed in a powerful frame frame. No vessel element extends beyond the frame elements, unlike a tank car.

The complete set of the container provides for the equipment of reliable shut-off and safety valves of the companies "Phoenix" and "Fort Vale". Two Phoenix 309.50 liquid phase valves and one Phoenix 309.50 gas phase valve are installed on the container. The gas phase drainage line is equipped with a siphon that prevents the container from overflowing. The valves have remote pneumatic control. The new tank container also uses a safety valve with a bursting disc manufactured by Fort Vale. The gas pressure in the tank is controlled by a pressure gauge with a medium separator.
The container is equipped with a full service platform and folding handrails, providing a safe working environment for operators who drain and fill the container.
On the basis of the tank container model T50-225, the tank container model T50-225.1 is also made. The tank is made without holes located below the cargo level, which made it possible to transport an expanded range of goods, including sulfur dioxide and methyl mercaptan.
