On October 24, the world Bank will participate in the opening ceremony of the nursery in Glubokoe experimental forestry, October 25, will visit the national forest selection seed-growing centre in the Minsk region, and on October 26 will visit the Institute of forest of national Academy of Sciences in Gomel region. In addition, it is expected that meetings and negotiations with specialists of Bellesexport and Belgosles will be held.
Belarus became a member of the world Bank in 1992. For the implementation of the project "development of the forest sector of the Republic of Belarus" was originally granted a loan of the International Bank for reconstruction and development in the amount of $40 million 714 thousand, as well as a grant of the Global environment Fund in the amount of $2.7 million (agreement between Belarus and the IBRD signed on April 2, 2015). In April 2018, the world Bank and the Ministry of forestry signed an agreement on the allocation of an additional loan of 12 million euros. The objectives of the forest sector development project include improving the efficiency of forest management, reforestation and afforestation.
