- The policy of reforms and openness of China has 40 years, and its performance in Shanghai, the Chinese leader actually launched its new stage…
- At the opening ceremony, Xi Jinping made the keynote speech "a New era, a common future", demonstrating China's determination for greater openness and cooperation. He explained the Chinese plan for the further promotion of this policy and announced important measures taken in this regard.
He also demonstrated a firm determination to promote the Chinese plan of openness, inclusiveness and mutual cooperation in the speech of the Prime Minister of the state Council of China Li Keqiang.
For 40 years, China has firmly held the position that the country should be open not only to independent development, but also to benefit the world. In 1978, at the beginning of this policy, China's economy was only 367.9 billion yuan. In 2017, China's gross domestic product reached 82.71 trillion yuan (equivalent to $12.2 trillion). China's share of global GDP grew from 1.8% in 1978 to 16% in 2017. These figures speak for themselves.
Over the years, China's GDP grew at an average annual rate of 9.5%, and the country's economy became the second largest in the world. I will cite another fact-more than 700 million people have successfully emerged from poverty, which was a great achievement in the improvement of human rights. Thanks to the rapid economic growth, our country has achieved excellent results in the field of energy, transport, mail and telecommunications, science, education, culture, health and other major industries.
It is significant that since the 18th all-China Congress of the Communist party of China, led by XI Jinping, the implementation of the policy of reforms and openness has reached a new strategic height, contributing to the country's achievement of truly historically significant results.
- What is the impact of China's policy of reforms and openness on the world economy?
- I'd say it's very big. China's contribution to global economic growth exceeded 30%. And the volume of imports and exports for the period from 1978 to 2017 increased by almost 800 times. China continues to be the first in the world to export goods - our export is 12.8% of the world. China ranks second after the US in terms of imports of goods. Chinese foreign direct investment in 2016 reached more than $ 196 billion (more than 10% of foreign direct investment in the world), China became the second largest investor.
We can say that our contribution to the growth of world trade is not only reflected in the growing scale. The modernization of the Chinese economy itself also has a positive impact. The corresponding data show that from 2013 to 2016, China's final consumption has the highest percentage of global consumption.
As for the continued strengthening of the economic power of China actively participates in global economic development and economic management, entering new markets, adhere to mutually beneficial cooperation and expanding the level of openness. An example of this is the concept of "one belt and one road". Currently, more than 100 countries and international organizations actively support and participate in its implementation. The concept, which is characterized by the principle of "joint consultation, joint construction and joint use", has already become an important complement to the existing mechanism of international economic development.
- Compared to other major economies in the world, China's economic growth remains one of the highest at present…
- Now the functioning of the economy in China as a whole is stable. Key indicators such as economic growth, employment, prices, balance of payments, business profits, financial income and labour productivity are within a reasonable range.
Despite the growing domestic and international uncertainty, as XI Jinping noted, the basic principles of economic development and stability in China have not changed. The conditions supporting the qualitative development of production factors have not changed, and the overall dynamics of long-term stability is maintained at a good level.
China is a market with more than 1.3 billion people and a territory of more than 9.6 million square kilometers.the country's economic development Prospects are optimistic, and as for the emerging problems, all measures are taken to solve them in a timely manner. At the same time, the ability of China's macro-regulation, as noted by world experts, is constantly strengthening. We see that the Chinese investment and trade cooperation with the countries along The "one belt and one road", and especially with Belarus, is moving forward.
- Can we say that the First Chinese international exhibition of imports of goods and services in Shanghai was organized in line with the promotion of openness?
- Absolutely correct. Its successful implementation is another step for the initiative of opening the Chinese market to the world.
Looking back to the historical past, it should be noted that open cooperation is an important driving force for enhancing the viability of the international economy and trade. Looking to the future, it is safe to say that open cooperation is nothing but a requirement of the era.
The first China international import exhibition corresponds to these trends of the era and creates a universal platform for the development of global trade, provides international public goods for the development of an open economy. Of course, the exhibition has become a powerful measure to protect the multilateral trading system.
- At this exhibition, XI Jinping spoke about five key areas for further expansion of China's openness…
- This is to facilitate the basic conditions for imported products, expand access to the domestic market, create a more favorable business environment, promote further openness to the outside world and promote the development of multilateral and bilateral cooperation. These vectors are a signal to foreign entrepreneurs.
According to forecasts, Chinese imports of goods and services in the next 15 years will exceed $30 trillion and $10 trillion, respectively. These are excellent prospects for all Chinese partners, including Belarus, for the supply of Belarusian goods to our huge market.
- This exhibition has attracted great attention of the foreign community. How many States have responded?
- Yes, indeed, the First Chinese international import exhibition received an active response and attracted the participation of 172 States, regions and international organizations, as well as more than 3.6 thousand enterprises. More than 400 thousand Chinese and foreign representatives, including companies from Belarus, took part in the negotiations to discuss procurement. The quantitative results of the trade deals concluded at the exhibition have not yet been announced, but based on the periodic reports on the transactions for tens of billions of yuan, the success of this exhibition promises to be impressive.
- How would you rate the Belarusian participation in the exhibition?
- The organization of the national exposition by Belarus was very important, where the offered goods and services were demonstrated at a high level. In addition, the Belarusian and Chinese sides signed a number of documents, including a Memorandum on trade and economic cooperation between the Chinese-Belarusian industrial Park "Great stone" and the Pilot zone of regional trade and economic cooperation "China-SCO", an agreement on intentions to create a "great stone" Chengdu-European industrial sub-Park.
I want to say that was important and the results held in Beijing on the eve of the exhibition the third session of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental Committee for cooperation chaired by the heads of its national parts - the Deputy head of the presidential Administration of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov and members of the political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of politics and law Commission of CPC Central Committee Guo Shengkun. The parties signed the minutes of the meeting and the relevant documents on cooperation.
The parties unanimously recognized the need for even more active implementation of the agreements between the heads of the two States, promoting cooperation in the "one belt and one road", and agreed on the need to continue to explore mutual potential in various fields, further expansion of exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, high technology, education and culture.
With the strategic leadership and personal support of Chinese President XI Jinping and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, our relations have reached a new stage of mutually beneficial cooperation, and exchanges and cooperation in various spheres have reached the highest level in the history of diplomatic relations.
I am confident that Belarus and China will be able to make full use of the enormous potential of bilateral cooperation.
